Story behind the piece: unstained
The meaning behind Unstained comes from a memory I have from when I was little. The church I grew up going to had a stained-glass image of Jesus, and every time I looked at it, I was fascinated by it. I remember wondering how people could create something so beautiful out of glass, and I loved that it was inside a church and represented people’s worship of the Lord. That memory stayed with me, and I wanted to create something inspired by it in my own way.
Now that I have returned to my faith and experienced the Lord’s saving grace in my own life, I wanted this painting to represent entering new seasons with a Christ-centered heart and intention. The flowers symbolize blooming into new parts of life—growing, changing, and becoming who God is calling us to be.
To me, Unstained is an expression of my faith and of what it looks like to surrender my life to the Lord and allow Him to work through it. The crosses, flowers, colors, and patterns each carry their own symbolism, but I hope viewers can find their own meaning within them. Whether they connect with the spiritual message or simply find something in the imagery that speaks to them, I hope this piece reminds them that new seasons can be beautiful when we allow the Lord to lead us through them.
